In a major development for enterprise AI, Starburst today introduced its new Enterprise Intelligence Platform at the AI & Datanova event. The centerpiece of the launch is AIDA, an AI assistant now generally available, designed to operate directly within business workflows and applications. AIDA enables users to generate visualizations, trigger workflows, open tickets, update records, and initiate processes—all without leaving their existing tools or moving data across systems. This marks a shift toward embedding AI where work happens, rather than relying on centralized data lakes or dashboards.

The platform addresses a critical pain point: fragmented, ungoverned data across clouds, lakes, SaaS apps, and operational systems. According to Mavvrik’s 2025 research, 84% of companies report that AI costs are eroding gross margins by more than 6%—not due to AI’s failure, but because the underlying data lacks trust and coherence. Starburst’s solution brings AI to the data, preserving governance and business context while enabling enterprise-scale analytics and agentic workflows.

Key features include AI‑Ready Data Products that embed business definitions and metadata into reusable assets, Icehouse Ingest and LakeOps for optimized Apache Iceberg operations, and a Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployment model that allows enterprises to maintain control over infrastructure while benefiting from Starburst’s managed services. The platform delivers up to 2× performance over open-source Trino and includes resilience features to ensure mission-critical AI systems remain operational during infrastructure failures.

With AIDA now generally available and BYOC deployments in preview, Starburst is positioning its platform as a fast path to trusted, operational AI—promising weeks, not months, to operationalize AI on existing data stacks. This launch underscores a broader industry shift toward embedding AI into enterprise workflows with governance, context, and performance at scale.
