In a strategic move to modernize market infrastructure, the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) today announced plans for LSE 24, a groundbreaking 24/5 trading venue tailored for digital, algorithmic, and agentic trading. The platform is set to operate continuously from Monday through Friday, providing global investors with unprecedented flexibility to respond to market events across time zones. Client testing is expected by the end of 2026, with Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) launching in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approval. LSE 24 will initially focus on ETPs and may expand to equities, leveraging LSEG’s established digital infrastructure. The venue is designed to enable secure, native connectivity for agent-based trading, allowing clients to interact with market data, order management, and execution workflows in more automated and intuitive ways—all while preserving the governance, resilience, and controls of a regulated market. Julia Hoggett, CEO of LSE plc, emphasized that LSE 24 represents a significant evolution in market design, reinforcing London’s position as a leading global financial center by supporting deeper liquidity, greater efficiency, and broader participation. This initiative marks a pivotal step toward integrating agentic AI into core market operations.
