In the summer of 1956, a group of researchers gathered at Dartmouth College for a workshop that would become known as the Dartmouth Conference. This event is often credited as the birthplace of artificial intelligence as a field of study. The conference was organized by John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon, and it introduced the term ‘artificial intelligence’ to the world.
