The Dartmouth Conference, held in the summer of 1956, is often considered the birthplace of artificial intelligence as a field of study. Organized by John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon, this event brought together leading researchers to explore the possibility of creating machines that could simulate human intelligence. It was at this conference that the term ‘artificial intelligence’ was coined.
